Vintage Silverplate Square Footed Basket

Our vintage silverplate square footed basket with a handle is ideal for holding fruit or candy. The base is marked “Kingsway Plate Made in England” and “S Ltd”, which refers to the trade mark and manufacturer, called Suckling Ltd., founded by William Suckling in 1895. The company, based in Birmingham,  specialised in a large range of silverplated holloware until 1965.

The basket has a nice patina and surface marks consistent with its age and use.
