Vintage French Wooden Hat Block

This vintage French wooden hat block, from a Milliner’s shop in Provence, has a turned wooden column and base and would make a lovely decorative piece.

A hat block, also known as a hat form, is a wooden block carved into the shape of a hat by a craftsman known as a block shaper. It is used by hatmakers or milliners to form a hat.

This is an old piece and there are some minor marks consistent with its age and use.
