Large Vintage Wooden Storage Chest

This characterful large vintage wooden storage chest once belonged to Lt Col GAW Hickman, which is stencilled on to the top and one side, along with the words “TO STORE BOX 1 OF 14”.

It is made of pine and has been painted black on the outside.

The lid hinges open, making it ideal for the storage of papers and magazines in a living room, where it could double up as a coffee table, or in a bedroom to store clothes, shoes or accessories.

It has its original metal clasp for closing and two metal handles on the side, so the piece can be easily moved.

This piece bears marks and scuffs, consistent with its age and use.
