Vintage Clear Glass Pickling Jar

This vintage clear glass pickling jar from Hungary, was once used to preserve seasonal fruits and vegetables, so they could be enjoyed year round.

Hand blown by local craftsmen, it is embossed with a large number “15” on the base, referring to the number of litres the jar can hold.

This is an ideal vessel for bunches of flowers, or stems of foliage. It could also be used as a terrarium or even as a pillar candle holder.

Note: each vintage glass pickling jar is unique and bears its own characterful markings, so no two pieces look the same.
