The Terms & Conditions below, apply when using the Vintage Matters website, www.vintagematters.co.uk . You should read these Terms & Conditions prior to placing an order with us. By placing an order with us, it will be deemed that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

ORDERING:
On placing an order through our website, you are making an offer to Vintage Matters to purchase the goods outlined in your order. We will require your name, email address, credit/debit card, phone and address details. This information is required in order to either process your request; inform you of acceptance of our order or if there is a problem; or to pass on a delivery quote, where necessary. A contact phone number is needed so that we can get in touch if there is a problem with your order. We may, unless you inform us otherwise, provide our couriers with your contact phone number in case they need to reach you to arrange the delivery of your order.
After placing an order online, we will provide you with confirmation via email, that your order has been received but this is not confirmation that your offer to buy the item(s) has been accepted. Our contract for the sale of our products will only exist once an order has been accepted, processed, with the funds cleared into our bank account and the order dispatched to you.
You warrant that all details you provide to Vintage Matters for the purpose of purchasing goods are true and accurate and that the credit/debit card you are using is your own and that you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the cost of the order, including shipping, where necessary. All orders are subject to acceptance and product availability.
Please note that we will not be able to meet any obligations as a result of the following reasons:
• If the product you ordered is out of stock or no longer available
• If we are unable to authorise your payment
• If it is identified that there is a product description or pricing error
• If customers do not reach any order criteria outlined in the Terms & Conditions
• If our delivery companies are temporarily unable to deliver due to exceptional conditions that are beyond our control including hazardous weather conditions and accidents
Should there be an issue with your order, we will contact you via email or phone.
Vintage Matters reserves the right to reject any offer of purchase by you at any point.
PRICING & PAYMENT:
Please note that all prices listed on the Vintage Matters website are correct at the time of publishing the information, however, we reserve the right to change the prices of any product at any time. If we discover a pricing discrepancy in the price of the products you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct cost, or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, for any reason, we will treat the order as cancelled and will give you a full refund.
All prices shown are in British Pounds Sterling (£). Delivery charges, where applicable, are shown on the checkout page.
We accept payment by credit or debit card from Visa, MasterCard, Maestro or American Express via PayPal and you can also pay via a direct bank transfer. We do not accept cheques. All goods remain the property of Vintage Matters until paid for in full.
All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
We may refuse to process a transaction for any reason, or refuse service to anyone at any time, at our discretion.
Please note for people paying in another currency, other than British Pounds Sterling, that many credit/debit card issuers may charge a conversion fee for transactions in currencies other than the one assigned to your card.
For overseas shipments, you may incur import taxes and duties (please read more below, under Delivery)
PRODUCT:
The vintage products sold on the Vintage Matters website may show signs of age and we try, where possible, to mention this in the copy or images related to the product. By buying from Vintage Matters, you agree to accept the products as they are photographed and described. Once the product has been delivered, Vintage Matters cannot be held responsible for any deterioration or damage through usage, by the recipient.
Please contact us before ordering, if you have any questions related to any product.
We reserve the right to withdraw any products from this site at any time and/or remove or edit any materials or content on this site.
DELIVERY:
Please ensure you check all items on receipt, as faulty or damaged items must be reported within 48 hours of receiving the order. For damaged product, we request an image be sent to [email protected]
Delivery charges, unless where stated, are determined by weight and size of the item(s) ordered and will be added at the checkout stage. This is based on the standard delivery service, which is 2-3 days from despatch to a UK mainland address.
For all furniture items, delivery is free to UK mainland addresses, for the standard delivery service, which is 2-3 days from despatch.
For deliveries outside of the UK mainland or overseas, please read below.
For urgent deliveries, please contact us at [email protected] and we will be able to provide a quote.
Orders will be shipped to the address stated on your order confirmation, once the order has been placed and please note that the delivery period stated within which you will receive your order is approximate. We try to despatch as soon as possible (normally within 2-3 working days) and you should receive your order within 8 working days. A signature is required at destination. Should you be unavailable to receive your order, a card will be left.
For UK addresses other than mainland UK and international deliveries, shipping costs will be charged in accordance with the size, weight and destination address. Please contact us for a quote, prior to ordering.
Please note that for overseas shipments, you may incur import taxes and duties once a shipment reaches your country, which you are responsible for, along with any other customs clearance charges. The prices shown on our site do not include these charges. We recommend you contact your local customs office for further information.
International shipments may also be subject to cross-border inspections by customs authorities.
CANCELLATION:
You are entitled to cancel this contract provided you exercise your right, no longer than eight working days, after the day on which you receive the order. If you wish to cancel this contract prior to despatch, please email [email protected] as soon as possible.
If your order has already been despatched, please follow the procedure set down in the “Returns” section below.
RETURNS:
On receipt of your order and if you no longer require it, for whatever reason, please notify us immediately and return to us within 14 days of receipt. The goods should be in their original condition and preferably in the original packaging, or comparable to the quality of the packaging, when you received the order.
Any amount debited from your credit or debit card will be refunded back to the same credit or debit card, within 10 working days of receipt of the returned order, provided the goods are in the same condition as they were when delivered to you.
Please note that if an item is returned after our returns period (14 days from receipt) has ended and without prior notification to us, then we can only offer an exchange or credit note and are unable to offer a full refund.
You are responsible for any packaging, postage/courier charges incurred when returning any goods to Vintage Matters, unless the return is as a result of an error by us. We strongly advise that you obtain proof of postage on returning your order, as Vintage Matters will not be liable for any packages lost in transit.
If you are in the European Union and you cancel your order and send it back to Vintage Matters within seven days of receiving the order, we will refund the standard postage and packing costs you paid as part of the order, if any, in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations. You will have to pay the cost of sending the order back to us.
PROP HIRE:
Payment is required in advance of hire. We take no responsibility for any damage incurred whilst in your possession and all products should be returned in their original condition. Should damages or loss occur, we will expect full payment for the item.
LIABILITY:
Please note that whilst we will make every effort and reasonable care to keep your order details and payment secure, we cannot be responsible for any loss you may suffer if a third party procures unauthorised access to any information that you supply, when accessing or ordering from the Vintage Matters website.
In the unlikely event, that there is an error in the cost of the goods that you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible, but shall be under no obligation to fulfil an order for a product that was shown with an incorrect price.
If you have ordered and paid for a product, where the cost shown on our website is incorrect, for any reason, we will email you to advise that we have not accepted your order and that it has been cancelled and we will make a full refund to the same account that the funds were originally taken from. You will be advised of the correct cost of the product and are able to re-order it, if you wish to do so, as a new transaction.
If you receive goods that are either damaged or defective, or not what you ordered, you must notify us within 48 hours of receiving the order and we will then arrange to refund the costs of the goods and any shipping costs, once returned and received back to Vintage Matters, unless we inform you that the return is not necessary. This does not affect your statutory rights.
We do not accept any liability for any errors and/or omissions contained on our website and reserve the right to change information, prices and descriptions of products listed, at any time and without notice.
We strive to give the most accurate information we can, relating to dimensions, condition and provenance or age of the product, but can give no guarantee as to the accuracy of this information. Many of the pieces we sell are vintage and show age related wear, consistent with their age and use.
We have provided the most accurate representations of each product for sale on the website, though due to a number of varying factors, such as internet browsers etc., we cannot be held responsible or liable for any differences in colour between the image and the actual product itself.
We will not be liable to you or any third party by our withdrawing any product from this site, whether or not that product has been sold.
Vintage Matters cannot be held responsible or liable for your use of any websites that are accessible from this website, as we do not have any control or responsibility for these. Any such links should not be viewed as an endorsement or an affiliation with Vintage Matters.
We cannot be held responsible for any delay in the delivery of your order.
Woodworm / Woodboring Beetle / Common Furniture Beetle – our vintage pieces of wooden furniture may have evidence of old woodworm. At Vintage Matters, we treat anything that may, or may not, have evidence of worm, however it is impossible to be 100% certain that this treatment is totally effective and we take no responsibility for any damage caused to furniture supplied, or to surrounding furniture or building materials.
Vintage Matters shall not be liable to you by reason of any representation, or implied condition, guarantee, or other term, or any duty at common law, or under the express terms of the contract, or in negligence for any indirect special or resultant loss or damage (including but not limited to loss of profit or loss of saving), expenses, costs or other claims for compensation whatsoever, which arise out of, or in connection with the use of the Vintage Matters website, the sale of their products or their use of resale by you.
PRIVACY POLICY:
Unless required to by law, your details will never be passed to a third party for any reason. We will only use your information for the purpose of fulfilling orders placed by you and adding you to our email list to advise you of future introductions, special offers etc.
On placing an order, you will be added to our email list, though should you not wish to receive mailings, please contact us at [email protected] and your name will be removed.

All the content on the Vintage Matters website, which includes photographs, logos, pictures, copy and any other materials, represent the copyright or registered trademark of Vintage Matters. The reproduction, modification, copying, circulation or incorporation of any content on the Vintage Matters website is forbidden, with the exception of copying, printing or downloading material for the sole purpose of using the website in good faith or for non-commercial reasons.
JURISDICTION:
Use of this website and the conditions, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
This website and our Terms & Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law. Whilst we are happy to consider requests for products and/or enquiries from outside the UK, we give no warranty, express or implied, that the use of this website, or the placing of an order through this website from outside the UK, complies with any applicable non UK laws or regulations. Accordingly, any products or services not permitted under your local law are not offered to you.
