Vintage Polar Milk Cooler

We loved the graphics on these vintage Polar Milk Coolers, made of terracotta, that we found at a market.

These hollow pieces were originally used back in  the 1920’s/1930’s, when not everyone had a fridge. The idea was to soak the piece in cold water and then fill the top chamber with water too and place over the milk bottle. The terracotta absorbed the water and helped to keep the milk cool.

These decorative pieces are ideal for a kitchen or cafe and are sure to be a conversation starter!

These are authentic old pieces, so do bear marks consistent with their age and use and there are minor chips around the bases.
