Vintage Military Wooden Storage Chest

This characterful vintage military storage chest was sourced from France and we believe was a storage chest for rocket heads in the 1950’s, based on the label that is on the inside of the lid.

The chest is made of pine and has been painted a military green colour. It is stencilled with the word “ARCHIVES” on the front, whilst the lid bears hand written words and numbers: “PRIGENT  No. 5” and “7977”.

The lid hinges open, making it ideal for the storage of papers and magazines in a living room, where it could double up as a coffee table, or in a bedroom to store clothes, shoes or accessories.

It features two metal clasps for closing firmly and two side handles so the piece can be easily moved.

This is an authentic vintage chest and bears signs of use, consistent with its age and use.
