Vintage Jielde Desk Lamp

Vintage Jielde Desk Lamp

This is a two-arm Jielde desk lamp, originally designed by the French engineer, Jean-Louis Domecq in the 1950s for use in factories as a work lamp.  Following the brief to be “simple, robust and articulated in order to adapt to all working stations”, the Jielde lamp is an iconic French industrial piece.

The name “Jielde” comes from the French pronunciation of the engineer’s initials: Je-iL-De.

The lamp is in good vintage condition, though the original green paint has a distressed finish. It has been re-wired and PAT tested and mounted on a steel base, for added stability and comes with an E-27 screw type bulb.
