The Educational Supply Association (ESA), founded in 1879 and based in London, was set up to supply schools with equipment and furniture. James Leonard, joined ESA in 1946, as a designer and began using new materials of the time, one of which was cast aluminium, which forms the sleek lined base of this child’s desk.
The legs are stamped ESA Esavian, as the brand become known.
There are different shades and marks on the top of the desk, which add to the character of the piece and are consistent with its age an use.
