Vintage French Madeleine Tin
Our 1950’s vintage French madeleine tin was sourced from a disused boulangerie/patisserie in Provence. The rigid shapes on this traditional moulded tin are decorative on both sides, so it would look good as a piece of home decor, or in a restaurant or cafe setting.
18th Century madeleines are always associated with the little town of Commercy, in the north-east of France, whose bakers were said to have once, long ago, paid a very large sum for the recipe and sold the little cakes packed in oval boxes as a specialty of the area.
This is a well used piece, so bears marks consistent with its age and use.
